A seven-step build sequence.
Every home on every project. No shortcuts. Each step is the result of fifteen years of building, testing, and listening to homeowners about what they wished their builder had done differently.
Discovery + Load Calculation
Every project starts with a real conversation about how you live and what your home needs to do. From there we run a Manual J/S/D load calculation — the math that tells us exactly how much heating, cooling, and ventilation the house actually needs. This single step is why our HVAC systems run quieter, smaller, and more efficiently than the contractor-rule-of-thumb sizing most builds rely on.

Envelope Design
Wall sections, roof assemblies, floor assemblies, window spec, mechanical spec — all designed together. We treat the envelope as a single integrated system from the start, not as a series of trades that meet at the job site. This is where a high-performance home is decided, before a single 2x4 gets cut.

Framing + Sheathing
Advanced framing where it matters: minimum lumber, maximum insulation, no thermal bridges we can avoid. ZIP System exterior sheathing taped continuously becomes the primary water and air barrier. Penetrations are flashed and sealed as they happen — we don’t leave details for someone else to clean up later.

Pre-Drywall Blower Door Test
Before drywall goes up, we pressurize the house with a calibrated blower door and walk every square inch with a smoke pencil and a thermal camera. Leaks at this stage are cheap to fix. We catch them now and document the result. Test, fix, retest until the number is where we want it.

Mechanical + Envelope Finishing
Continuous exterior insulation goes on the outside. The HRV/ERV gets installed, balanced, and commissioned. Heat pumps and heat pump water heaters get installed and tested. Drywall and finishes happen on a fully sealed, fully insulated, fully ventilated structure.

Final Blower Door + Commissioning
We blower-door the finished home one more time and document the final number. Then we commission the mechanicals — flow rates, balance, controls, filtration — and verify everything performs the way the spec says it should. We share the report with you.

Delivery + Documentation
At handoff, you get more than keys. You get the blower door report, the commissioning report, the equipment manuals, the warranty schedule, and a walk-through of how everything works. And the ProjectFlew dashboard stays live for the life of the home — every photo, every invoice, every decision, archived for you.
